Description:
(sorry about the CRAZY frozen pic! oh god!) Before there was television, there was vaudeville. YouTube is like Vaudeville... people just putting their creativity out there - and so far - not ruled by profit. In order for creativity to flourish, "mistakes" must be allowed, even celebrated. Dictionary.Com definition of Vaudeville: theatrical entertainment consisting of a number of individual performances, acts, or mixed numbers, as by comedians, singers, dancers, acrobats (sounds a LOT like YouTube!) |

Thaahum ::: Favorites This is a good piece because it captures how a lot artists feel. The mainstream doesn't leave a lot of room for artist creativity, which leaves little room for discover.Creativity is like a scientific process which major labels don't want to undertake. It is very frustrating for artists like myself trying to break in the mainstream. 06-11-26 16:43:45 _____________________________________________________
Thaahum ::: Favorites I notice it takes whatever frame is in the "middle" of your post and uses that. It just so happened that around 4 min and 49 seconds into your video you had this look like you really had to go to the bathroom. On your next post you could just see how long the video is when you are done, and post some rendom pic in the middle. lol 06-11-26 16:43:54 _____________________________________________________
Thaahum ::: Favorites Creativity is like a scientific process which major labels don't want to undertake. It is very frustrating for artists like myself trying to break in the mainstream. On the other hand, with times changing like this it has forced me to come up with my own formula before presenting it to the masses. A lot of people are frustrated about this though. We are not alone. 06-11-26 16:45:19 _____________________________________________________
Thaahum ::: Favorites One good book I read that has helped me is "The Purple Cow" by Seth Godin. I like his philosophy because he says playing it safe is actually more of a risk because people will look over you if you look or do things like everyone else. but if you are different it will get you noticed, even by those who themselves are afraid of being different. 06-11-26 16:59:46 _____________________________________________________
LisaMurray ::: Favorites Thanks Thaahum for your relating to the video! Your words always make me think about things a little deeper. :-) 06-12-13 23:31:59 _____________________________________________________

cowboy1000000 ::: Favorites The actors in the Ziegfeld Follies made good money and lived the high life. The movie Funny Girl was based on a Ziegfeld Follies actresses life. 07-03-03 23:00:06 _____________________________________________________
jmathewbloom ::: Favorites Wow. Your vlog just helped me come to a better understanding of Vaudeville. What you're talking about is negativity on yt. That's cool. Like you said this is our Vaudeville. But I'm finding that in olde Vaudeville, they actually had the same problem. Someone stupid or drunk was always disruptive. In fact, it was such a problem that they incorporated it into the act. In our own weird and offbeat way, that's exactly what this is. Thank you for helping me come to this understanding. 07-08-05 01:43:00 _____________________________________________________ |
