Description:

Information Who is Rick Astley? That was the question asked by many people in the late '80s. "Together Forever" helped to answer that question. His producers Stock/Aitken/Waterman always centered their '80s productions in the middle of the dance genre and the accessibility of pop. In that regard Astley was a perfect component. It was the timbre of his baritone that sold this stuff. Sure Astley wasn't ready to pinch hit for David Ruffin on the Streets Of Gold tour, but he certainly was soulful, but oh so restrained. "Together Forever" has subtle touches that makes it work. The rhythm and arrangement here have a subtlety missing from "Don't Say Goodbye" or the aforementioned "Never Gonna Give You Up" Dance aficionados could be hooked by this with its flashes of early '80s synths and the general danceable vibe. It seems like a slam dunk, but Astley's lack of old-school R&B smoothness and the producers lack of innovation makes this less than it could have been. Lyric If there's anything you need All you have to do is say You know you satisfy everything in me We shouldn't waste a single day So don't stop me falling It's destiny calling A power I just can't deny It's never changing Can't you hear me, I'm saying I want you for the rest of my life chorus: Together forever and never to part Together forever we two And don't you know I would move heaven and earth To be together forever with you If they ever get you down There's always something I can do Because I wouldn't ever wanna see you frown I'll always do what's best for you There ain't no mistaking It's true love we're making Something to last for all time It's never changing Can't you hear me, I'm saying I want you for the rest of my life Chorus So don't stop me falling It's destiny calling A power I just can't deny It's never changing Can't you hear me, I'm saying I want you for the rest of my life Chorus 3x
