Thanks Fossilman. I'm sorry about your son. I worked for a time with a woman that had DU poisoning from working at the Hercules plant in Texas. It was painful to see what this young woman was going through. I find it difficult to understand why we would continue visit this curse on our young men and women in uniform.

Yeah, GIs need the respect of trusting them with the larger truth of their mission. My son was disabled in GWI...chemicals we think...Weaseldog, never tired of reading what you wrote over at AB and the other sites good guitar work by the way.

I agree. My nephew came back from the war with a messed up leg. He's due for another surgery. He was in the 10th Mountain Division and his Humvee rolled over an IED. He was the only one wounded, thankfully. God bless our soldiers for answering the calling. But we have a duty to make sure that they fight for what is righteous. I believe that we as a nation have failed them again.

Lord knows how many good and well-meaning soldiers have been sent off on some fool's errand by some asshole who's never seen real action, sitting in an ergonomic chair wearing a suit that would cost the average soldier a month to afford.

While I do think that Lip Service War Supporters deserve a good stiff jab in their hypocritical midsections, I do think it's possible to be opposed to a given armed conflict and still fervently pray for those men and women abroad to come home in one piece, or failing that, at least come home alive.
