But I think I might know where the math turns wrong - why we can't judge simply with DOL numbers. You go work for a mega corp and take a $(put a number here) salary or $1 salary like Brin or Jobs. A friend of mine worked for Microsoft and bought a really really expensive car and a dream house when his options materialized. He's retired now.
