So let's take the idea that, that gun is aimed at you. Whether you are a criminal or not the machine will fire at YOU. Should we really be making guns like this. Can we afford to have this kind of technology. This only makes decisions less personal and more instant. Guns, they let cowards have a word in edge wise, when they shouldn't.

PS. Thanks for the very good series of comments about war and when it is or isn't needed. What do you think of opposing the war in Iraq, anyway? Even though you yourself take a neutral opinion on the subject, do you have a problem with all the opposition to the war?

I should add that the reason I and a lot of other politicians and citizens supported the initial invasion before the "bad intelligence" was revealed, was because Saddam was a known military aggressor - he invaded Kuwait and Iran. If he ever got to the point where he could have usable nuclear weapons, that would suck ass for his neighbors.

Other people think he quickly had all evidence destroyed, because he knew he would lose the war and wanted to discredit the US. Both options are possible but are unprovable, just like the idea that he NEVER had them. He was a crafty son of bitch - you'd have to be to stay in power that long. I just want to get it over with and get to a point where Iraq can take care of themselves.

I don't typically support "police action" wars, but we had bad intelligence before Iraq, and we can't really go back and fix that now. A lot of the people who supported the invasion before based on the WMD stuff have changed their opinion. I've changed to a neutral stance, because there's no proof either way that he did or didn't have them - a lot of people seem to think he transported them across the border in mobile labs when war looked imminent.

The tone of your "question" was easily interpreted as rhetorical, accusatory, and sarcastic, especially given the context of the conversation it was asked in. So, I responded in kind. Be more careful of that. Also, since you seem to be demanding an answer, I only think war is necessary in response to an international crisis, such as in the World Wars.
